Snowshill Village and Manor, Cotswolds

Snowshill is a small Cotswolds village in Gloucestershire. A tiny ad quiet village filled with picturesque stone cottages, pubs and church. Snowshill is about 20 minutes drive from market town Burton-on-the-Water. Also, a lavender farm and the Snowshill Manor are definitely worth a visit.
Things to do in Snowshill
- Cotswold Lavender – a Lavender farm, a great place to take pictures of Lavender fields (the best time of the year to visit lavender fields is late June to early August)
- St Barnabas Church – A number of scenes from the romantic comedy film Bridget Jones’s Diary was actually shot in Snowshill. If you have watched the film, you’d notice St Barnabas Church in the centre of the village that appeared in the first 30 seconds of the film
- Snowshill Manor and Garden – a must-go manor house managed by the National Trust with fascinating collections by the English architect Charles Paget Wade.
Travel Tips
- Parking in Snowshill village – limited off-road parking spaces, but we managed to park the car next to the St Barnabas Church.
- The Car Park of the Snowshill Manor is managed by the National Trust. The main car park (and the overflow car park) could become very busy during the day. The Café and the public toilet next to the main car park, the Manor is only 5 minute’s walks from there. The children will definitely love seeing the model village in the garden on the way to the Manor.
