Swallow Falls is a natural landscape located near the town of Betws-y-Coed in northern Wales, formed by the Llugwy River in Gwydir Forest, and is one of the most famous and spectacular waterfalls in Wales.
Swallow Falls is also a filming location for the movie Wonder Woman 1984. Do you remember the scene at the beginning of the movie when young Diana runs through a vast meadow and jumps over a waterfall? The waterfall in that scene is Swallow Falls.
Travel Tips
The entrance to the waterfall area is located beside road A5 and can be accessed by a self-service turnstile entry with a coin or contactless payment, so you can visit anytime as long as it opens. (Please refer to their official website for more information. Swallow Falls)
There is a parking bay along the road A5 next to the entrance and the Swallow Falls Hotel’s car park is just on the other side of A5 (finding a parking space during the day may be difficult, but there is usually a lot of space available in the late afternoon or evening).
Inside the Swallow Falls area, there are many stairways and several viewing platforms where you can see the fall closely and clearly. You can also have a rest on benches or have a picnic on the ground here. About 30 minutes to an hour is enough to spend here. You may also plan to explore the surrounding area on the same day.
